Description of Case: 68-year-old with a complaint of lower abdominal pain radiating to his right groin was noted by CT scan to have a large aneurysm. Despite continued abdominal discomfort requiring periodic morphine; however, his vital signs remained stable. Prior to the planned repair, patient arrested and died. Theory of liability was failure to intervene on an emergent basis to repair.
